On 11th July 2024, Dawn Intelligence founder Leah-Sunshine Garrett survived a random gender-based violence attack — just minutes after helping a teenage girl who had been beaten nearby. Surrounded by people, no one intervened.

The experience revealed the harsh truth behind the statistics: 97% of women aged 18–24 experience sexual harassment, yet most never report it. Leah did — and still, little changed.

Haunted by what happened, she began noticing how fear and mistrust were shaping society — boys labelled as threats, girls conditioned to expect danger. Determined to break the cycle, she combined her lifelong passion for coding with her drive for social change.

At just 11 years old, Leah was fluent in Python and JavaScript. Over a decade later, she built Dawn Intelligence — an AI platform turning data into action to prevent gender-based violence.

Born from pain but fuelled by hope, Dawn Intelligence exists to protect the next generation — transforming anger into insight, and insight into safer communities.
